Name: Oroku Saki (AKA: Ch’rell/The Shredder)
From: TMNT
Appearance:

badass armour

badass businessman

badass... erm...

Age: Somewhere around 3000 years?
Gender: Male
Personality: Oroku Saki is cold, cunning, merciless, uncaring, malevolent, vengeful, egoistical, greedy, vicious, and ruthless. He loves the fear and pain of others, their fear is his power. And no matter what, Saki could never have too much power. His pride and ego are his biggest weaknesses, he hates losing and he is usually willing to sacrifice so much to ensure that his status stays the same, that others will continue to fear and hate him. Because without their fear and hatred, he was nothing. Anyone who challenges Saki’s authority deserves death.

He does not always attack head on, usually he prefers to use manipulation and his cunning to get what he needs done. Subtlety is one of his strong points, one that he had honed over the years he had lived on Earth. At the same time, he can be very impatient, sometimes (rarely) demanding unreasonable things from his minions. He is harsh with his followers, often punishing them whenever they failed him. Dr. Stockman is a good example of this. Everytime Stockman failed him, or tried to betray him, Saki would have one part of Stockman removed, until eventually all that was left of Stockman was a floating brain in a jar (“You should have quit while you were...ahead Dr. Stockman”). Saki didn’t see the point in Stockman having a body when it was just his brains that Saki needed. (“This is Baxter Stockman? You've lost weight”)

Saki is a good actor, having lived amongst the humans so long that he is able to mimic all emotions perfectly. He can put up a kind and unassuming front to gain the trust of the people surrounding him, and to earn himself followers. He is a businessman who knows how to make money, and how to keep it (though it is not money that guarantees power.) Honour was a human concept that Saki only paid attention because he knew that it could be used to manipulate people.

Saki spent almost a thousand years on Earth, and during that time began studying the art of ninjutsu. Because of the huge amount of time he had spent in Japan, he is a master of ninjutsu and can wield just about any kind of weapon. As an Utrom he is visibly much quicker on his tentacles than other Utroms and seems to possess much greater strength than what is ordinary as well (as shown in Turtles Forever when he headbutted both the 80’s Shredder and Krang).

The only redeeming quality that Saki has is his genuine fondness for his adoptive daughter Karai. Had she not betrayed him multiple times, then he would not have ever contemplated killing her. He found her as a child, and he had honed her into the perfect weapon and a very capable business woman. He even considered for a moment to give up a piece of alien technology for her when she was kidnapped and held for ransom by Agent Bishop.

Backstory: Ch’rell was a criminal who had spread fear and horror across the galaxy for almost three hundred earth years before he was captured and brought before the Utroms to be judged for his crimes. Since the Utroms did not have a death penalty, though Saki's crimes included the destruction of several worlds and the enslavement of many races (and a death toll that reached into the billions), they did not sentence him to death. Instead they sent him into exile to a lone asteroid in a isolated planet far away from any civilization. On the way there, Saki escaped from his prison and caused the ship he was on to crash into a primitive, uncultivated planet: Earth. (Japan during the early Sengoku period to be precise)

Ch’rell scuttled out of the ship and left Captain Mortu and his crew to try to find a way back home, with no success. Their scans had shown no technology on this planet, and no way to repair their ships and go home. Eventually Mortu and his crew were able to scavenge enough from their crashed ship to create an exosuit, a robotic skeleton that was shaped exactly like a human. They needed this to walk amongst the humans and wait until the technology of planet Earth was advanced enough for them to create a transmat device and leave to their homeworld.

One of the few female Utroms (they're the yellow ones) took the exosuit on a test run, and was delighted when she was, more or less, able to travel into town unnoticed. She was less thrilled when she ran into Ch’rell. He instantly bumped her out of the exosuit, and took it for himself.

Years later, after creating a skin that greatly resembled Oroku Saki (a warrior at that time) and taking the name for himself, Ch’rell had gathered several warriors (The start of the Foot Clan) and had already begun to use the title The Shredder for himself. He had scavenged some metal from the crashed Utrom ship, and had taken it to some sword smiths who molded the metal into a perfect blade. Ch’rell attached the metal to a handle that provided it with a power source, and granted the blade with the power to shoot energy attacks. The first thing Ch’rell did with the Sword of Tengu was kill the humans who made it.

(Saki had won the Battle Nexus Championship sometime during this time span, had somehow lost the Sword of Tengu, and acquired the Foot Mystics. This is merely a note seeing as it hardly has anything to do with his current state.)

Fast forward a few hundred years to a more modern Japan in the 20th Century. Oroku Saki at this time was still attempting to hunt down the Utroms with his now expanded Criminal Empire, and was failing due to a group of pesky humans who called themselves "The Guardians." The Guardians were humans who had pledged to protect the Utroms with their lives, and to help them try to escape Earth and go home. More then that, they considered it their job to try to slay Saki (with little success). It was during this time that Saki found a homeless Karai, and took her in to be his heir.

With the information that Shredder received from a jealous Yukio Mashimi (A friend of Hamato Yoshi), Saki attacked the Utrom hideout and slaughtered many of the guardians who had been training there. The Utroms, to Saki's rage, escaped via escape pods, and Saki turned his rage onto Yukio.

Not long after that Hamato Yoshi appeared at the Foot Clan Citadel and single handidly take down many of Saki's followers before attacking Yukio, who had been a Guardian also, and who had killed the woman who Yoshi had loved.

As their Japanese base had been discovered, the Utroms moved away to America, with Yoshi and his pet rat, Splinter, going with them. Enraged that the Utroms dared to slip away, the Shredder followed Yoshi to New York City. A successful businessman at that time, Oroku Saki easily hunted Yoshi down and cornered him in his own apartment with his new minion, Hun, who was the leader of the Purple Dragons street gang. The Shredder wanted Yoshi to reveal to him where the new Utrom base was.

"Those who live without honor, will die without honor."

Despite the tortures that The Shredder had put him through, Yoshi refused to tell him what he wanted to know. Irritated, Saki killed him and left the body behind.

Shredder’s war with the Ninja Turtles started out with the destruction of their home by the mousers that Saki had ordered Doctor Stockman to build. It was after the Turtle Brothers had destroyed the mouser lab, and stolen the Sword of Tengu away from his followers (Who had been sent to retrieve the lost blade from a museum) did Saki realize that he was going to have to do something about them or they would become an annoyance.

Hoping that he could get the Turtles on his side, he called a meeting with Leonardo (The blue one :P), and attempted to strike up a bargain, saying that they should not be fighting against each other, but with each other. Leo, who had been fiercely scolded by Master Splinter earlier, actually considered it. The Turtles were quickly told about the Shredder by Master Splinter himself, and all refused Shredder’s offer. A battle quickly ensued, with Shredder coming dangerously close to killing them all before Splinter tricked him into falling off of a building and dropping a water tower on him.

He attacked the Turtles in April's shop, and locked them in a closet before lighting the place on fire. Later, he had Dr. Stockman investigate the site where April's shop had once stood. Stockman lied to Shredder by saying that he found evidence that the Turtles were dead, and Shredder allowed him to have full access to the exo-suit that he had pulled out of the river using the power of the re-stolen Sword of Tengu.

Because of Stockman's lie, the Turtles were able to perform a full attack on the Shredder's tower, and had managed to make it all the way to Shredder himself. After a brief distraction where Stockman appeared suddenly in giant armored suit and proceeded to attack the turtles and Shredder, they began their "final" confrontation. The very last blow given was between Shredder and Leo, Leo with the Sword of Tengu, and Shredder with one of Leo's swords. Shredder was beheaded and the Turtles brothers left, happy with their victory. The headless exosuit got up and picked up the head before walking off.

The next time they met was at the TCRI building. Saki had finally located the Utrom base in New York (the light that blasted from the building to space was a dead giveaway) and planned a full attack on the building and the Utroms. Unfortunantly for him, he met up with the Turtles while he was there, and was defeated, once again, by them. He had set up a bomb that was designed to destroy the Utrom base specifically because the base was made almost entirely out of organic matter. The Utroms escaped using the transmat device not long afterwards. After a fight, the turtles managed to beat Saki down and force Saki to reveal his true form, much to the Turtle's surprise and disgust. The turtles managed to power up the Transmat device and teleport themselves away, leaving Saki to be destroyed along with the building.

Unlike previous encounters with the Turtles, this time Saki actually took a lot of damage. His body was taken to a giant ship he owned and he and his ninja spent time out at sea while he recovered. During the time he spent recovering Hun had created nine robotic soldiers that took on the appearance of several very important people. What interested Saki the most was the one that was made to look exactly like Master Splinter. Ultimately, the plan failed (what a surprise), and the Turtles used the robot Splinter to find their way to the Shredder's barge. They and their Triceraton (and alien race that look like orange triceratops) ally attack Saki and his ninja. The Triceraton attempts to hold Saki while the ship is rigged to blow up around them, but Saki manages to escape (minus one leg).

Not long after this, the Triceratons invade Earth looking for the Fugitoid (a robot that held the mind of a brilliant scientist). Saki makes no attempt to help defend the City or the world against the Alien onslaught, but stepped in when it was all over (when the TMNT brothers saved the planet) and offered his considerable wealth to help repair the City. It was really just a cover that allowed Saki to gather the alien technology and push him several steps closer to achieving his goals of finally escaping the planet.

Saki eventually had everything he needed to escape the planet. The Triceraton technology, while lesser then Utrom technology, was more advanced than anything Earth had to offer. He had his trusted scientist Dr. Chaplin build a massive starship underneath the Foot Clan building. He had hosted a going away party at his home that was supposed to be Saki’s excuse for suddenly disappearing and leaving Karai to handle everything that Saki had built up during his time on Earth.

His plans were interrupted by those annoying Ninja Turtles. Somehow they found out his plans, and were intent on stopping him from escaping. Their presence changed Saki’s plans and he immediately ordered Chaplin to initiate the launch procedures. Unfortunately for Saki, Agent Bishop (a questionable Government official) blew out the tunnels that was suppose to take the cruiser to the river. Enraged that his plans were falling apart so spectacularly, Saki ordered Chaplin to open the emergency doors so that the starship could take off. The unfortunate thing was that the doors opened in Saki’s yard... where almost a hundred of Saki’s guests were enjoying themselves. Naturally, Saki didn’t give a damned and the doors opened, causing a few of them to fall to their doom. Agent Bishop, determined to not let Saki escape (He knew Saki as Otoku Saku like everyone else did), had his men blast the living hell out of Saki’s mansion. It didn’t stop what was going on beneath them though.

During his fight with the turtles in his office and the take off center, Saki’s exosuit was falling rapidly apart. Hun had discovered that Saki was an Utrom, but didn’t get a chance to react to it as he was flung suddenly off of the ledge by Leatherhead (another ally of the turtles). Saki slowly made his way across the bridge to his starship, but was stopped by Donatello throwing liquid nitrogen at him and freezing his exosuit in its tracks. Luckily for Saki, his daughter Karai came to the rescue and carried him onto the ship just seconds before it launched.

Aboard the ship, Saki was placed in a new exosuit, and he eagerly awaited his ascent into space. To his fury the Turtles had managed to get inside of his ship and proceeded to challenge him. His fury turned to delight as he anticipated killing off these annoyances. It would be perfect that he would accomplish the total destruction of the Utrom race, and the death of these incredible irritations.

The attacked him head on, Saki quickly took them out, one by one. First he electrified the rat, shoved Leonard into Karai’s blade, broke the Raphael's ribs, broke Mikey’s legs, and knocked out Donny with a swift blow to the neck. He stopped the takeover of his ship’s system by knocking Professor Hunnycutt (He was pocket sized and could hack into any computer terminal) away from the controls. He was on the very verge of killing Leonard when Karai stopped him this is a kids show after all. He knocked her out of the room, and went to go finish her off when the door slammed shut behind him, keeping him away from the turtles... momentarily.

The Turtles knew that they could not defeat the Shredder in their condition, so they came up with another plan: Blow up the ship. They would be destroyed, but so would the Shredder, and they knew that they could not let Saki escape. Saki managed to get the door open just in time to see the final count down and the very core of his ship begin to explode.

Time stopped, and the Utroms suddenly appeared. They had used some of their own technology to freeze time on the ship, and allow them to retrieve all of its passengers and escape before the ship blew up.

Ch’rell, Torrinon, Kako Naso, Duke Acureds, Oroku Saki, (All the names he was known by) The Shredder, once again stood trial before the Utrom Tribunal.

Crimes Ch’rell was convicted of:

-The attack of the planet Enethron. Over one million inhabitants perished.

-Incited and funded a civil war on Eno 2 in an effort to mine their raw minerals without restriction. 3.2 million perished.

-Attempts to seize control of the Government on the Utrom homeworld through an illegal and violent coup.

This only scratched the surface of the crimes Saki had committed, but this was the only things they could convict him for. It was enough for him to be found guilty of all charges and banished to the asteroid Mor Gal Tal.

Moral Standing: Chaotic Evil
Dreams: Revenge against the utroms.
Fears: Confinement.
Extra: Oroku Saki was the name of a warrior that had existed in 300 AD, and it was his identity that Saki had stolen to help control the Foot Clan as well as the Foot Mystics.

(“For almost a millenia, I have been marooned on this pitiful mud ball, but I have spent my time well. I have built my empire with one goal in mind: revenge. All that time I have plotted to cross the universe, and finally conquer the hated Utrom homeworld, and worlds beyond, but there are those who would stop me such as Agent Bishop and the accursed turtles, and their rat master. But now, my starship is complete. I say, let my enemies come. Today, I return to the stars and the Shredder will not be stopped!”)

Writing Sample:

A headcanon thing here.

Oroku Saki, New York City's most influential billionaire, looked like a perfectly ordinary Japanese businessman. Saki had lived on this pathetic planet for over one thousand years, he knew at this point that dressing seriously will make others take you seriously. Oroku Saki had a meeting with the Mayor, it was to discuss the future plans for the City, and how Oroku Saki's money would help it. The Mayor was a blithering, oblivious fool, but a useful one. It hadn't taken much persusion on his part to convince the Mayor to let him clean up the city after the Triceraton attack. It was thanks to him that Saki had the technology he needed to finally leave. His time was so close at hand, Oroku Saki was satisfied with how things were going. Soon, he will escape this miserable backwater planet, and enslave the Utroms, and from there, he will conquer the stars themselves. He still had many preperations to make, Saki wanted his departure from earth to go largely unnoticed, he may return here to personally destroy the Turtles, and all of his other enemies, someday.

He was Ch’rell, a member of the ancient and advanced Utrom race. He, who crashed here so many hundreds of years ago, had been hunted for many hundreds of years before his capture by the Utroms. The fools had tried to imprison him, and they paid for it by being trapped on this rock alongside him. Ch’rell, as The Shredder, hunted them down, and slayed whomever stood in his way. He whittled them down bit by bit, taking down their "Guardians" as they threw themselves at him, only to die for a lost cause. The number of humans that had given their lives to protect the Utroms from him would have been laughable, it if weren't for the fact that many times the Humans succeeded.

Altogether, he was The Shredder, and before long the entire world, entire worlds, will tremble before his name and his image. What he had done so far, all the lives he had taken, all the worlds he had destroyed, would be nothing compared to what his wrath will unleash onto the galaxy. He wanted to destroy it all, he wanted to hear the screams of the innocent as they suffered, he wanted to hear the wails of the hopeless as they cursed their very own existence. This vision of his left him feeling excited, oh the possibilities!

His line of thought was interrupted by a knock on the door of his study, and Saki turned to greet his most loyal henchman: Hun. "Greetings Master," Hun said, bowing respectfully, the massive man taking up a considerable part of the room by doing so, "All preperations are going as planned, there have been not a hitch so far." Oroku Saki nodded, his hands behind his back, "Excellent, tell Dr. Stockman that I wish to see him." He did not trust the man in the slightest, he was far too intelligent, too much of a backstabber, to underestimate him. Hun nodded, "Yes, Master Shredder." He bowed again, and left the room.
